Benhill-Crescent Horticultural Society is an active not-for-profit society for allotment holders and gardeners, based at the Benhill Allotment site in Benhill Road, Sutton.
With origins going back to 1957, the society currently has approximately 250 members from around the borough and beyond.
Even if you’re not an allotment holder, you can become a member and take advantage of the great prices at the Trading Hut.
You can also be part of the many social events throughout the year, sharing expertise, time and fun with like-minded people. Most events are free and all members are welcome to attend.
Call in to the Trading Hut at Benhill Road on any Sunday morning to join.

Every year we select a charity to support.
Sutton Mental Health Foundation is a community mental health support service for anyone over the age of 18 living in the London Borough of Sutton. You don't need a formal referral to take advantage of our support services, wellbeing activities & events.

All members of the society can join in the social events arranged throughout the year. All members are welcome and most events are free.
Events for 2025:
Sunday 18 May - Plant Swap and Open Day
Starts at 10:30am
Our Plant Swap returns this year, bring your spare plants to exchange for tokens which can be used to purchase other plants. Please note that you can buy tokens if you don't have any plants to swap.
June - Coach Outing - Awaiting Details
Saturday 12 July - Quiz Night and Fish n' Chips on the 'lawns' of Benhill Allotment site.
Starts at 7:00pm
Our Quiz Night and Fish n' Chips takes place on Saturday 12 July 2025 at 7pm. A team event held at the allotment site....teams of 6 can be made up in advance or on the night. Tickets £10 from the Trading Hut, bring your own nibbles and drink.
Sunday 13 July - Benhill Family Fun Day and Summer Show
'Spud in a Tub’ and new for this year 'Beet It' on the Benhill Allotment Site.
Games for all the family, raffle, bring a picnic from 12pm.
Note that this show is open to all BCHS Members.
Staging between 9:00am - 11.30am, Spuds to be in between 10.00 and 11.00, Refreshments at 12:00 noon.

Sunday 7 September - Autumn Show at the Benhill Allotment Site - Note the change of date
There are over a hundred different classes which any member can enter. These include domestic and horticultural classes, as well as photography, art, handicrafts and also a children’s section, which is free to enter.
The Show is open to the public at 2pm and is free to all.
Refreshments are available to purchase and all proceeds from the raffles, plant sales and refreshments are donated to the Society's chosen charity for the year.
