Benhill-Crescent Horticultural Society is an active not-for-profit society for allotment holders and gardeners, based at the Benhill Allotment site in Benhill Road, Sutton.

 

With origins going back to 1957, the society currently has approximately 250 members from around the borough and beyond.

 

Even if you’re not an allotment holder, you can become a member and take advantage of the great prices at the Trading Hut.

 

You can also be part of the many social events throughout the year, sharing expertise, time and fun with like-minded people. Most events are free and all members are welcome to attend.

 

Call in to the Trading Hut at Benhill Road on any Sunday morning  to join.

The Trading Hut

You don't have to have an allotment or even a garden to become a member and take advantage of the competitive prices on a wide range of goods on sale at the Trading Hut at the Benhill Site, Benhill Road, Sutton.

 

It costs only £2 per year per member!

 

Because we are a not-for-profit organisation, our prices are usually considerably lower than you will find elsewhere. Many items are purchased in bulk by the society and repacked in smaller sizes so that members can benefit from even lower prices.

Every Sunday morning (10.00am-12.30pm)

Credit Cards are now accepted - for purchases over £1

 

What is on Sale?

The Trading Hut stocks a wide range of items, including:

 

  • Bird food (20kg or  25kg Bulk bags or smaller 1kg, 2kg or 5kg bags)

  • Poultry Feed - Grit and Layers Pellets

  • A range of seasonal plants

  • A range of of vegetable, flower and herb seeds

  • Soil and Compost (aquatic, ericaceous, John Innes, multi-purpose, cactus, top soil, loam, peat

  • Ornamental, woodland or composted bark

  • Fish food and pond supplies

  • Stakes and canes in 3’, 4’, 5’ 6’, 7’, 8’ lengths and 8’ heavy duty

  • Fertilisers, lime and compost makers

  • Fleece, netting and plastic sold by the metre

  • Gravel, sand and grit

  • Growbags and patio bags

  • Manure (horse, poultry and organic)

  • Pots, trays and propagators

  • Tools, gloves and accessories

  • Turf and lawn feed and dressing

  • Twine, string and ties

  • Wire and netting
